The Perfect Crime #2

I was reading the co-blog of Stephen J. Dubner and Steven D. Levitt, authors of the book Freakonomics (which I listened to and enjoyed at the library some months back), and I came across a post about an interesting news article. The post, and subsequent article, caught my attention for two reasons. First, I notice anything German-related these days, particularly those things that involve my own direct experience. Secondly, the Berlin store involved in the heist, Kaufhaus Des Westens (KaDeWe), was the very same store I blogged about after my visit to Berlin. I think it’s pretty cool to have been to one of the places were one of the largest old-fashioned heists in recent times just took place, and the rest of the particular oddities surrounding the case just make it all the niftier.

  1. Wow. Just wow.On another amazing crime note, you may enjoy reading about < HREF="" REL="nofollow">Vassilis Paleokostas<>. Or, if you prefer the dramatic (and foul-mouthed) version of his story, try < HREF="" REL="nofollow">Badass of the Week<>.
